Mrs. Mary James Morris Bazemore
Mrs. Mary James Morris Bazemore, 83, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Hospice Savannah.
Mrs. Bazemore was born in Clyo, Georgia on September 28, 1927, the daughter of the late James Calvin and Phoebe Ella Priester Morris. She was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Bazemore was preceded in death by her loving husband, R. Wiley Bazemore, her six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Bazemore McAuley Lee of Richmond Hill, GA and Angela Bazemore Calvo George of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Kristin McAuley Achord Ryan of Atlanta, GA, SPC Andrew McAuley, deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, Jeffrey Calvo and Ashley Calvo, both of Charlotte, NC; brother and sister-in-law, George and Marie Morris of Springfield, GA; sister-in-law, Margorie Alligood of Dexter, GA; brother-in-law, Edward Morandi of Ocala, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances: Southside Baptist Church, Faith Sunday School Class, 5502 Skidaway Rd., Savannah, GA 31406.
The Bazemore house was my second home growing through high school and college. I remember Sunday was always fried chicken for lunch and oh the summer vegetables from Mr. Bazemore's garden. I am so sorry to hear of your loss Angie and Karen. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Lori

Karen and Angie,I was so sorry to hear of your mothers' passing, I have such wonderful memories of her and your family.My mother said Mary practically raised me as I was at your house so much!She was so proud of ya'll.I will always remember what a great cook she wasespecially the fried chicken and her fried doughnuts and the wonderful memories of growing up with The Bazemores!
